Heart Scriptures for Valentine's Month

During February I've been collecting scriptures about the heart. Here are a few:

Romans 5: 3-5 The Love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.

Mosiah 2:9 Open your hearts that ye may understand.

Deuteronomy 4:29 Seek the Lord with all your heart

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all they heart.

1 Peter 1:22 See that you love one another with a pure heart fervently

Proverbs 15:13, 15
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance
He that is of a merrry heart hath a continual feast

Luke 16:15
God knoweth your hearts

Reading these scriptures has helped me to think about how we need to open ourselves fully, to be filled with the spirit and righteous thoughts and love through and through. I'm trying to be that way.

Texas Spring

Here in Provo, we're currently watching snow fall. But just last week, Paul and I were meandering around San Antonio and Austin in sandals and shirt sleeves. OK, sometimes we needed a light jacket, and it did rain some--but it was so warm and delightful! Mid to high 70s--and even 80 one day. Ah!

We went to the Zoo (where we saw a very cool underwater hippo!) and to Austin (where we saw very professional Mary in her classroom). We hiked to enchanted rock, explored the Nimitz Museum of the War in the Pacific, and toured the capital and the San Antonio Mercado. We played with Beyblades, went down slides, and had tea parties.

It was a great trip!

Beth's Birthday

The 4 days of birthday have just ended with a great Valentine's party. Emily and the children came early to decorate with hearts and streamers. Paul bought the beautiful Valentine cake and all sorts of yummy treats. Kay and all the Utah Linebacks came which was so fun. Jared found trivia questions based around 1951. It was loads of fun.

The rest of the celebration was fun too. On Thursday Paul took me to see BYU Theatre Ballet perform Cinderella. It was the 40th anniversary of Theatre Ballet--I was the secretary for that first year. In a display were photos from the first performance, and I was in them.

Friday was my actual birthday. Jen, our assistant, brought delicious cupcakes to celebrate. Then Dad took Mark and me out to La Jolla at Riverwoods for dinner. So delicious and lovely. We sat looking out a big window at the twinkling lights on the square.

Saturday we went to SLC to spend time with Margaret who came out for WGU meetings. We had pizza at the Lymans' house before taking Margaret to the airport. Then, in the evening Paul and I went to see Madame Butterfly at the Covey Center. It was wonderful! Amazing singing! Right here in Provo too.

Then the party today. I feel very well celebrated.

Happy Birthday to me!
